Eight in court after Class A drugs bust, with six from Torbay

Eight people have been charged with drugs offences following a day of police action in South Devon.

Detectives from Devon and Cornwall Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Branch led the operation on Tuesday 7 May, supported by resources from across the force.

The Torbay Weekly understands that all eight have been charged in connection with a conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, with some also facing additional drug-related offences, including the production of crack cocaine

Six people appeared before Exeter Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning. They were:

Finley Gribble, 23, from Paignton

George Langford, 20, from Paignton

Kaiden Edwards, 19, from Paignton

Shane Cozens, 27, from Paignton

Luke Barbour, 38, from Torquay

Kiara Banks, 20, from Paignton

Two further individuals have been charged and are due to appear in court in the coming weeks:

Leon Harding, 20, from Exeter

Corey Murphy, 20, from Exeter

The charges follow an investigation into suspected drug-related activity in the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police have urged members of the public to report any information about illegal drug activity through the force's non-emergency channels. Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
