Symbolic moment at Astley Park
Brixham Rugby Club has been celebrating an amazing 150 years of history over the course of 2024 and ended the year by burying a time capsule for future generations at Astley Park.
The date for opening the capsule is set for December 28, 2074, and those taking a peek in 50 years’ time will discover some amazing treasures.
The club said: “Contained within this capsule is a comprehensive representation of the illustrious history of Brixham Rugby Club.
“This includes memorabilia from every team of the current season, the playing kit, a video flash drive, match programmes ancestral photographs of players' families, images showcasing the evolution of the clubhouse, changing rooms, and Astley Park from various perspectives. Additionally, details of the committee structure and upcoming events planned for the club's 150th anniversary in 2025 also to added

On the pitch, Brixham will take an 11-point lead to Torquay in the traditional Reg Brewers Cup fixture for U21 sides. Brixham won a pulsating game 41-30 and the second leg is due to take place at the Tics on Good Friday.
