More than 400 runners competed in the Totnes 10K on yet another extremely hot summer's day, writes TOM ATWILL.
The race alongside the River Teign and around the ground of Dartington is hosted by the Teignbridge Trotters and is always well attended, to be clear SDAC attendance at the event has no correlation whatsoever to the cake-stand, barbecue and beer tent at race headquarters.
Fourteen runners from South Devon Athletic Club took on the heat, with Stuart Batten first over the line in 24th position with a time of 47 minutes 46 seconds.
Jeremy Goddard was next home in 113th in 59m 06s followed by Steve Wright (142nd 1h 53s), Kerry Bell (167th 1h 2m 51s), James Nash (175th 1h 3m 18s), George Holman (194th 1h 4m 42s), Maria Weymouth (265th 1h 9m 51s), Mark Holman (277th 1h 11m 28s), Michelle Coles (308th 1h 13m 46s), Brian Marjoram (319th 1h 14m 39s), Roger Webb (324th 1h 14m 52s), Neil Jordain (333rd 1h 16m 1s), David Cubberley (1h 30m 56s) and Kassie West (TBC).
