Royal British Legion stalwart Major Ron Goodwin has been honoured for his sterling service.
Royal British Legion stalwart Major Ron Goodwin has been honoured for his sterling service.
At the Paignton RBL branch annual meeting, both president Maj Ron and chairman Gerard Sarsfield retired from their positions.
Major Ron has served 25 years as president and Ged six as chairman, although he will remain as a member of the branch committee.
The new president is former Torbay MP Kevin Foster and the new chair is Mr Jan Collier.
Maj Ron was awarded a life membership to the RBL and the branch gave both him and Ged a personal gift. The presentation to both Maj Ron and Ged was made by Rear Admiral (rtd) Christopher Snow, president of Devon County RBL, and to Jan by new president Mr Foster.
The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal has been launched and the Paignton RBL welcomes volunteers to help with the appeal.
