Torbay has led the world in the fight against dementia.
Torbay has led the world in the fight against dementia.
The first-ever 'World Walks Against Dementia 2025' event has been hailed a success with 49 countries globally joining in and 38 out of 50 states in the USA - and all beginning in the Bay.
Thousands of people worldwide took to the streets and came together in the battle against dementia, something that the world had never seen before.
In Torbay, the 'birthplace' of the initiative more than 100 walkers braved torrential rain to take part in the walk.
Torbay's Norrms McNamara, founder of Global Purple Angel dementia campaign and the worldwide event, said: "The photo of two babes in the pram summed it up.
"Hope mum saves the picture and the walk is still going when they grow up.So brave and so proud of them.
"How do you top that? We are forever grateful."
