Torquay Fire Station received eight new defibrillators to install throughout the community this week, after their two-year-long fundraiser earned a whopping £12,000.
The money was raised across the local community, with one young girl raising £1,200 from a five day cake sale last year.
Currently, Torquay Fire Station has seven AED units accessable to the public, installed throughout the Torquay area and a further three donated to local primary schools.
A spokesperson for Torquay Fire Service said: "We have just taken delivery of 8, yes 8, defibrillator units thanks to all the kind donations we have received.
"The community defib fundraiser by Torquay Fire Station has been running for 2 years now and has raised over £12,000, an outstanding achievement by all those involved."
Torquay Fire Station is looking for new places they can install these new defibrillators. To suggest a location, visit their Facebook page.
