Hotel Indigo Torquay for Corbyn Head
May 2025 was a month of big changes along Torbay’s seafront, with new openings and local developments catching the eye of residents and visitors alike.
Torquay’s Corbyn Head site made headlines as one of the world’s biggest hotel chains announced it would operate a new hotel on the seafront. Intercontinental Hotels (IHG) confirmed the site would become Hotel Indigo Torquay, in partnership with The Fragrance Group. The 153-room hotel, the 26th in the UK and Ireland for IHG, promised stays “entrenched in the neighbourhood’s individuality” while bringing a fresh, modern presence to the bay.
The good news continued on Torquay’s harbour front as our readers welcomed the opening of a new dining terrace, offering fresh outdoor seating and sweeping views over the bay. The terrace quickly became a popular spot for food and drinks as the weather warmed, adding another string to Torquay’s growing dining scene.
The buzz didn’t stop there. Torquay’s harbour front was alive with anticipation as The Yacht, a new bar and restaurant, teased its opening date in May. Their menus were just nearing completion, with their iconic blue tile and a gold-rimmed sign displaying ‘The Yacht” had just been installed.
