The Yacht's entrance is beginning to take form
A new bar and restaurant on Torquay’s harbourside is expected to reveal its official opening date soon.
The Yacht, located at the former Cinnabar premises on 18-19 Victoria Parade, had initially planned to open around Easter 2025.
It will become the second venue on Torquay’s harbour front operated by the East Street Pub Company, following the opening of Viva in late 2023.
While Viva offers food, drink and a focus on games and activities, The Yacht will have a maritime theme inspired by a Torbay sailor who is said to have brought back flavours from his travels around the world.
Steve Narvidge, director of the East Street Pub Company, described The Yacht as a “chameleon place”, which will also include an open distillery in collaboration with the Coastal Distilling Co.
In a recent social media post, the venue hinted at what’s to come, saying: “We’ve added a splash of style with beautiful blue tiling beneath our signage – a touch of coastal charm. The entrance is beginning to take form, and we’re putting the final touches on more than just the décor.”
The post also mentioned that menu designs were nearing completion and that bespoke gin labels had been redesigned.
New photos show the front of the building now features navy blue tiling and a gold-rimmed sign displaying the name "The Yacht".

One Facebook user commented: “Beautiful work. We saw a dude tiling, such fantastic quality and detail. Well done to all, it's great to see this, and so many thriving and amazing places on the harbour.”
When asked about an opening date, a spokesperson for the venue replied: “We are just making some last-minute adjustments behind the scenes, but we should be able to provide an official opening date soon.”
