A Christmas card designed by a Torquay schoolgirl has been presented to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak by Torbay MP Kevin Foster.

The festive design by Bella Lawrence, a pupil at St Margaret's Academy in St Marychurch, was chosen for the front of a Christmas card that also features the four runners-ups' designs and names on the inside.

Every year Kevin picks a primary school in Torquay or Paignton to run a 'Design a Christmas Card for Your MP' competition and this year, he chose St Margaret’s Academy.

Bella’s design was chosen as the one on the front of the card, which is sent to dozens of MPs, Cabinet Ministers and the Prime Minister, in addition to hundreds of people across Torbay.

Tim Hughes, headteacher at St Margaret's Academy, said: ""We were all delighted to see that Bella's design was chosen. Well deserved and a happy Christmas to everybody from St Margaret's Academy."

Kevin said: “I was pleased to receive so many fantastic entries for this year’s competition from pupils of St Margaret’s Academy. It was difficult choosing a winner but Bella’s design was excellent and will now be seen on display not only here in our Bay but in Parliament and even 10 Downing Street.”

Kevin’s Christmas Card is produced and sent at no cost to the taxpayer.
