'Life's' a beach' for Paignton seafront hotel guests

Team building is taking on a whole new meaning at Paignton's seafront Mercure Hotel.

Business delegates are being given the chance to round off a day of busy meetings by popping over to the nearby beach and giving it a good clean!

It's part of the Mercure's newly-launched ‘Boardroom to Beachfront’ delegate package. 

Partnering with Life’s a Beach, the initiative offers businesses the chance to combine productive meetings with a meaningful environmental contribution, 'turning team-building into a force for good along Paignton’s picturesque coastline'.

The Boardroom to Beachfront package is priced at £50 per person and includes room hire, lunch, refreshments, and a three-hour beach clean led by Life’s a Beach. 

Delegates will be equipped with all necessary materials to safely and effectively collect litter and plastic waste from the beachfront. Participants will also have the option to receive a reusable water bottle as part of their experience. 

As an added commitment to sustainability, £25 from each delegate's rate will be donated to Life’s a Beach’s educational programme, which provides free workshops and talks to local primary schools and community groups. These sessions aim to raise awareness among young people about recycling, single-use plastics, and ocean pollution. The initiative also supports underfunded schools by donating reusable water bottles, empowering them to continue reducing plastic waste long after the workshops end.
