A special event was held at a Torquay hotel which could save hundreds of lives.
An incredible 371 men received PSA blood tests at the Livermead House Hotel.
The tests are the route to identifying possible Prostate Cancer.
The charity event was paid for by The Torbay Prostate Support Association and supported by The Rotary Club of Preston (Torbay).
Early detection of the disease is essential as one in eight men will be diagnosed in their lifetime - by visiting the Prostate Cancer UK website there is a link to checking your risk.
The next Prostate Health Awareness & PSA testing event being run by TPSA will be in October and it is anticipated that bookings will open in early September.
The association is emphasising that if you have any concerns you should contact your GP and not wait for this event. Cllr Swithin Long was amongst those tested.
Donations are essential to maintain the funding of these tests – with each test costing in the region of £30.
A huge thank you has been given to Club Captain Steve Thorne and his team, who organised this year’s Pro-am at Torquay Golf Club. He kindly named this fantastic cause as one of the charities to benefit from the day. Every pound raised supports men, their families and friends in Torbay.
