A programme of resurfacing works will see temporary traffic management introduced, with drivers warned to prepare for potential delays.

Residents in Torbay are being warned to expect further traffic disruption later this month as road resurfacing works get underway, with drivers urged to allow extra time for their journeys.

Motorists face potential delays on the A3022 Dartmouth Road this festive season, as a programme of highway resurfacing works is set to take place between November 23 and December 18.

The works will include removing and replacing the existing road surface, renewing road markings and reinstating high-friction surfacing at key locations along the carriageway.

In order for this to be carried out safely, temporary traffic management arrangements will be in place.

Access arrangements will also be carefully managed to minimise disruption where possible.

Motorists and local residents have been encouraged to allow extra time for journeys and follow all signed diversions and temporary traffic management measures.

It has also been advised that, where possible, local residents should avoid travelling during peak periods to help minimise delays.

A Council spokesperson said: "This scheme is part of our continued investment in Torbay's infrastructure and our commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable highway network.”

“By carrying out these improvements now, we can extend the life of the road, improve safety for all users, and help avoid the need for more extensive and costly repairs in the future.”

"We recognise the impact roadworks can have on residents, businesses and visitors, and we are grateful for the community's patience while these essential improvements are delivered.”

“We also want to reassure people that Brixham remains open and accessible throughout the works, and we encourage everyone to continue supporting local businesses during this period."

The works are necessary to address the deterioration of the existing road surface and improve the condition of this key route.

Delaying the works could lead to further deterioration, resulting in more extensive and costly repairs, as well as greater disruption in the future for road users, residents and businesses.
