The football season is fast approaching crunch time and, as described by Exeter City interim manager Dan Green, it is that point in the calendar where “Everyone has something to play for”.
The Grecians welcome third-placed Bolton Wanderers to SJP and the challenge for Green’s troops is to break a run of four straight draws in League One, along with striker Jayden Wareham looking to continue his scintillating recent form.
City still have a healthy gap above the relegation zone but it would also take a monumental effort to challenge for the play-off positions.
Plymouth Argyle, on the other hand, take their highly impressive away form to struggling Rotherham, and the Pilgrims are now only six points outside the play-offs and harbour big hopes of an unlikely promotion push.
In the National League South, Torquay United welcome Chelmsford City and badly need to arrest a worrying run of form that has seen their promotions take a hefty dent.
