Trago Mills Newton Abbot ‘Family Fun Park’ is set to reopen in time for Easter, marking the return of one of South Devon’s long-established family attractions.

The news comes after a period of closure, bringing renewed activity to the site ahead of the busy spring holiday season.

South West based company Play Leisure Services have taken over management of the attraction, based at the Newton Abbot site, with plans to reopen all major rides and facilities.

The leisure business is led by Exeter-based managing director Matthew Conridge, who said the reopening is both a professional project and a personal milestone.

“I used to come to Trago’s Fun Park as a child, and like so many local families, I have fantastic memories of days spent here,” he said.

“I didn’t want to see it stay closed. This place is part of Devon’s story. We’re incredibly proud to be bringing it back to life and ensuring a new generation can make those same memories.”

According to the new operator, visitors will see ‘the return of all rides across the Family Fun Park’ when it reopens.

The Model Railway attraction, which has long been a popular feature for families, will also be operating again.

The Bickington Steam Railway, which runs at the site, has remained open throughout and will continue to form part of the overall visitor offer.

Mr Conridge said the focus is not only on reopening in time for Easter, but also on securing the long-term future of the attraction.

“We’re committed not only to reopening the gates, but to securing a strong and sustainable future for this much-loved attraction,” he said.

The company has confirmed that a programme of improvements is already under way.

A spokesperson for Trago Mills said: “The reopening represents more than just the return of a family day out. It signals renewed confidence, investment, and opportunity for the local economy, supporting jobs and tourism across the region.”

Updates on progress are expected to be shared on social media in the coming weeks as preparations continue.

Further details, including confirmed opening dates, are due to be announced soon.
