Photos: Community turns out in force for Babbacombe Fayre 2025

More than 90 stalls, live entertainment and a charity dog show made for a packed day on the Downs

Babbacombe Downs was alive with colour, music and community spirit on Sunday 10 August as crowds gathered for the annual Babbacombe Fayre.
Under the stewardship of The Rotary Club of Torbay Sunrise, the much-loved event drew huge crowds to the Downs, with organisers hailing it as “a tremendous success.”

More than 90 stalls lined the promenade, selling everything from local crafts and produce to tasty street food. Live performances kept the atmosphere lively, while bouncy castles and children’s activities ensured plenty of entertainment for younger visitors – and the young at heart.

One of the day’s most anticipated highlights was the charity fun dog show, sponsored by Pads and Paws, in aid of Animals in Distress – Torbay & Westcountry. Categories ranged from “Best Rescue” to “Waggiest Tail”, with the competition drawing smiles from spectators and proud owners alike.

Torquay’s famous therapy pony, Patrick, proved a star attraction, delighting the crowd – and even treating himself to an ice cream during his visit.

Event sponsor Cary Arms said: “A fantastic day filled with some amazing people and some great heart-warming moments!”

With its mix of live entertainment, unique stalls and family-friendly atmosphere, the Babbacombe Fayre once again cemented its place as one of Torbay’s top summer highlights.
