Stunning new exhibition is inspired by South Devon's coastline

The exhibition has taken inspiration from the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark and Paignton coastline to create artwork across many different art forms

CentrePeace in Paignton is excited to announce the "Climate and Community Exhibition" happening at the Liberal Club in Totnes road in Paignton from the 1st to the 7th of November.

The exhibition has taken inspiration from the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark and Paignton coastline to create artwork across many different art forms.

The Exhibition is generously supported by the Nature Nook CIC and co-organised by John at Emberlense.

CentrePeace is a Community Centre in the heart of Paignton. It started up back in 2013 and amongst supporting the local community it also offers workshops and groups in art, textiles and music.  These groups run by Shelly, Kristina and Sharon have created many amazing pieces of art and textiles using the colours of the coastline, shapes and wildlife that live in the area, as well as some artwork made from recycled materials .

Turning heads ( Changing Perceptions and Lives) art group based at the skills centre in Torquay created part of the artwork on display and CentrePeace is pleased to be once again working alongside the Turning Heads team . This  being the second collaboration with Turning Heads after the Wellbeing film Premiere night at the Lyceum Theatre in Torquay last spring.

In the Summer, local Poet and artist Becky Nuttall ran a poetry workshop at the centre and the poetry created from words of the local community was turned into a short film
with original music by film composer Alex Fisher . You can view the film and see more poetry as a part of this exhibition .

We also have photography on display,  printed, projected and a chance to buy a 2025 CentrePeace Calendar featuring many more photos exclusively at the exhibition.

Dr Kevin Dixon - Chair of Healthwatch Devon, Cornwall and Torbay will be opening the exhibition on our launch night on Friday the 1st of November at 6.30pm .

Opening times for the exhibition are 6.30pm to 8.30pm for the opening night of 1 November opening event, and then 10am-2pm on November 2-7 10am to 2pm. There will also be a free art textiles workshop on Tuesday and art workshop on Thursday. For the times of these workshops and for more information please visit:
