Shaun wings it for Batmen with superb maximum

There was a week off for many teams as there were no scheduled matches this week. However, there were many rearranged matches taking place particularly in the third division.
There was an excellent clash between the top two ranked Newton Abbot sides in the first division. NA Batmen, the current leaders of the division, won the first five sets against club rivals NA Buzzards. However the Buzzards rallied and kept the score to a respectable 6-4 defeat. There was a superb maximum from the Batmen’s Shaun Gibbs whose encounter with Kevin Nicholls produced some incredible points.
Torre Vikings hit the top of the third division table with a convincing 9-1 victory over Dawlish Renegades, Charun Tatom and Chris Garner were undefeated for the Vikings. Two wins in the week for Torbay Academy 3 lifts them into the runners up spot. Firstly they saw off their club mates Torbay Academy 4 9-1, thanks to maximums from Peter Moretta and John Fowler. Their second match was a much closer affair as they just eased past Brixham Gulls 6-4. The Taverners remain unbeaten following a narrow 6-4 win over NA Hawks, another Martin Dilkes maximum helping the Bishopsteignton team to victory. NA Hawks, with two games in two days, bounced back with a 7-3 victory at Torbay Academy 4, Andy Guy being unbeaten for the Hawks.
Dawlish Doubtfuls are the new leaders of the fourth division following their 6-4 victory over NA Ospreys, Marc Grim with a man of the match performance for the Dawlish side. It wasn’t a good week for the NA Ospreys as they also lost out 7-3 to club mates NA Merlins whose Chris Bishop collected a fine maximum.
