Afternoon of support for Paul Holmes
Former Torquay United stars with more than 1,500 appearances to their name helped to lead a highly successful 'Afternoon With Holmesy' which packed Plainmoor's Boots & Laces pub on Sunday.
The occasion, in support of ex-Gulls right-back Paul Holmes, who is battling with a life-limiting cancer diagnosis, attracted around 150 fans.
Holmes' friends and team-mates in person included Darren Moore, Tom Kelly, Sean Joyce, John Uzzell, Paul Smith, Richard Thompson, Robbie Herrera, Kenny Veysey, Phil Lloyd, John Impey and Russell Musker.
Wes Saunders, Paul Hall, Derek Dawkins, Chris Myers, Matt Elliott, Micky Holmes, Paul Compton and Ian Weston were among others who sent messages.
Holmes, 55, also played for Doncaster Rovers, Birmingham City, Everton and WBA and they sent memorabilia for an auction which preceded a raffle.
