History awaits right on the doorstep of the English Riviera

The English Riviera is a great starting base for visiting other places nearby for a fabulous day out

The Bay boasts more than 20 miles on glorious beaches, yet the stunning and natural beauty of Dartmoor is also just a short journey away.
Torbay Weekly photographer Stephen Coombes took a trip to historic Buckland Abbey. Here is just a snapshot of what he saw.
The abbey is a Grade One listed, 700-year-old house in Buckland Monachorum, near Yelverton, noted for its connection with Sir Richard Grenville the Younger and Sir Francis Drake. It is owned by the National Trust.
