Case studies from South Devon College GCSE students
South Devon College students are seeing their dreams turn into reality after securing magnificent results in their GCSE exams.
Lucy Wallis is one step closer to achieving her ambition of becoming a midwife. She achieved a grade 7 in her English language GCSE.
“Being a mum studying at South Devon College worked perfectly around my children to help the start of my journey,” she said.
17 year-old Amin Ahad from Paignton passed his English GCSE with a grade 5 at South Devon College. “The college was lively and interesting and my next step is to do a coaching course.”
19 year-old Ayla Butt from Paignton passed her maths GCSE with a grade 5. “The tutors were all really helpful and tried hard to make sure everyone succeeded. The environment of the college is also really nice to study in. I plan to continue studying at South Devon College and now I have my GCSE result I can start making plans”
Jackson Jacoby from Totnes hopes to work in the construction trade.
The 17 year-old passed his maths 4, and English 4, GCSEs at South Devon College.
“The college offered me the course that would support me best in following my dream and they also provided a safe place to study. I would like to specialise in a construction trade and am now applying for specialist construction courses.”
Luke Chivall from Totnes passed his GCSE maths with a grade 4 at South Devon College and plans to get a job working as a cook.
“Our teachers were kind, friendly and supportive and offered us a lot of encouragement,” said the 19 year-old.
Another 19 year-old, Logan Maskell from Paignton, passed his Sports and Coaching Level 2. He plans to stay on at South Devon College and study the Level 3 qualification.
