Torbay athletes fighting for medals after windy Westward Ho! race

Podium places up for grabs after another strong weekend for Torbay AAC

Nine Junior and Adult Torbay AAC Athletes made the journey to a very windy Westward Ho! for the fourth Westward League Cross Country Race.

Conditions were muddy after heavy rain at one end of the flat course, which also has hazardous ditches to negotiate. Several athletes and teams from the club now find themselves in podium places for trophies.

Annalise Little currently now lies second in the overall league with Hayley Ratcliff (FV55), Kevin Lofts (MV50) and Anthony Raine (MV55) all finding themselves in third place overall. The club also have under 15 boys, under 15 girls and under 17 women’s teams in third place in the league.

Stand-out performances on the day were Leon Snell who came second in the U15 boys race after leading from the start and Annalise Little who finished third.

Results on the day were: SM – 8,765m – 55 Kevin Lofts 33.25, 80 Anthony Raine 37.48. U15B - 4,000m – 2 Leon Snell 14.53, 10 Henry Gardiner 16.10. SW – 5,715 – 54 Hayley Ratcliff 27.46. U15G - 3,800m – 3 Annalise Little 15.30, 22 Lily Stone 19.26, 23 Beatrice Bateman 20.07. U13G - 2,855m – 8 Neve Blacker 10.56.
