Hoburne Devon Bay holiday park in Goodrington has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with Paignton Cricket Club.
A spokesperson for Hoburne said Paignton is the only premier team in Torbay committed to producing home-grown players and currently has 12 players in the first-team squad who have come through the youth system.
Paignton has four adult teams playing league cricket on a Saturday, seven youth teams, and two girls and ladies' teams competing in leagues.
Mark Orchard, Paignton’s first team captain, said: “We are a community club focused on creating a safe and family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy the game, which fits hand in hand with Hoburne Devon Bay, a family-run business that provides a family-friendly environment for all its holidaymakers and holiday homeowners.”
Gary Cook, general manager of Hoburne Devon Bay, said: “We recognise the vital role that local sports clubs play in community life, and it is great to see Paignton Cricket Club thriving. We hope our support will facilitate the development of current and new players in the adult and youth teams.”
