Torquay primary school hits the right notes

Lift Barton Hill has been hitting the right note.

The primary school has been named a Lead School for Music in Devon, earning recognition for its outstanding and enriching music curriculum.

Barton Hill are looking forward to supporting the delivery of music across Torbay and the rest of Devon and Plymouth.

Principal, Sam Smith said: “I passionately believe that all children should have access to high quality music education at primary school.  Learning to make music and to sing together is such a joy and builds children’s confidence.”

Mr Gray, Barton Hill’s music teacher, is incredibly proud of the musical opportunities he has created for the children, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality music lessons during their time in primary school. 

Mr Gray is also the Subject Network Lead for music in Lift Schools, delivering CPD and supporting music up and down the country. He is also the creator of the Youtube channel Music with Mr Gray in which he creates play alongs for a variety of instruments to be used in the classroom and at home.
