A charity golf day organised by property and commercial agents Bettesworths has raised £4,000 for two local causes.

This year Bettesworths decided to split the proceeds to two very worthy groups, Feed a Child Torbay and the Torbay RNLI

Feed a Child Torbay is a local group, formed in 2017, as a 'sticking plaster’ for holiday hunger amongst children whose families would struggle to compensate for the lack of free school meals at that time.

The group works with primary schools and early years providers in Torbay. They provide non-perishable meal kits to the schools for distribution to the families.

The RNLI celebrates 200 years this year. Originally formed in 1824. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution Torbay is a vital part of the U.K.’s life-saving charity, funded entirely by public donations.

The dedicated volunteer crew members are committed to saving lives at sea in and around the Torbay area. The crew relies on the support of the community and sponsors to maintain the lifeboats, provide equipment, and ensure the crews are ready for any emergency at sea.

Matt Bettesworth said: "We are delighted to be able to play a small part in these two vital organisations in Torbay raising funds at our annual golf day.

"This year it was a pleasure to split the proceeds between two very worthy causes; Feed a Child Torbay being a smaller but just as important group doing a sterling job for local families, and of course the better known but equally essential RNLI who provide a crucial service to the community."
