Torquay Rock Choir raises £1,800 for RNLI

Throughout 2023, the Torquay-based Rock Choir made Torbay Lifeboats their chosen charity of the year and through various events, raised £1,800 for the local lifeboats.

Rock Choir is a UK-wide contemporary award-winning choir experience offering local weekly rehearsals, performances and events to more than 400 towns and communities across the UK.

The RNLI Fundraiser Chairman, Peter Thorp was lucky enough to be invited to hear the Choir at one of their concerts at All Saints Church, Babbacombe just before Christmas.

This week, Peter was pleased to present leader Richard Toomer and the whole Choir with a "Thank You" Certificate.

Peter said: "As we enter our 200th Anniversary year since the formation of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, supporting our local Lifeboats financially continues to be crucial and the Rock Choir's donation will be put to very good use to maintain our lifeboats and assist their Crews".
