Grassroots clubs invited to Plainmoor
Local grassroots football teams will be the stars of the show when Torquay United hosts their latest Community Day, sponsored by South Devon College, for the visit of Welling to Plainmoor on Saturday, October 21.
Local sports teams and clubs will be invited to claim tickets for just £2 per person, as Torquay United AFC once again opens up the Wollens Terrace to the local Torbay sporting community.
With South Devon College’s logo proudly adorning United’s home shirts for 2023/24, the next designated Community Day fixture will see two community-focused members of the Bay landscape joining forces for the benefit of Torbay and its residents.
South Devon College’s passion for inspiring the local community is through learning in a modern and friendly environment, with a state-of-the-art main campus in Paignton, and other campuses based in various locations throughout Torbay and beyond, including Torquay, Newton Abbot and Kingswear.
Kelly Sooben, Vice Principal at South Devon College, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Torquay United’s Community Day. Events like this are so important in providing opportunities for people throughout the local community to experience the excitement of Plainmoor during a match.
“We hope that this will inspire members of Torbay’s grassroots clubs to follow their dreams and ambitions on the pitch. Most importantly, we hope everyone attending has a fun and memorable day.”
Torquay United’s Community Day initiatives help to emphasise the importance the Club places on being at the very heart of the local community. As the only professional sporting Club in Torbay, the Club is delighted to use both its heritage and profile to help support and promote local worthy causes.
Tickets will be allocated in the Wollens Terrace which is all standing. Tickets can be requested by emailing yellowarmy@torquayunited.com. When booking please state your club/team and how many tickets you would like, along with a contact telephone number for payment.
Please note: The minimum unaccompanied age for entry to the Ground is 14 years of age. All persons under this age will be required to attend and sit within close proximity (determined at the absolute discretion of the Club) to an adult (aged 18 and over).
