St Albans v Torquay United
Gary Johnson satisfied with three points for Torquay United
Torquay United manager Gary Johnson stressed: "There's more to come" after his side had beaten St Albans City 1-0 at Clarence Park for a first away win of the National League South season.
The result followed a 2-1 victory over Chippenham Town in midweek and sees the Gulls into the top-ten with seven points from four games.
Young defender Ollie Tomlinson scored his first senior goal for the Gulls from a Jack Stobbs cross in the 38th minute, prompting Johnson to say: "We've been ribbing Ollie and Ross Marshall about them both going up for set-pieces and not scoring - I've been on to Ollie and Downsey (assistant Aaron Downes) has been on to Ross.
"Now they've both scored in the last two matches.
"I thought we played it very well in the first half and created a few opportunities, including the goal.
"They upped it a bit in the second half and we had to work hard out there in very hot conditions.
"We had to close up shop a bit. But I thought we saw the last 20 minutes out very well.
"We're a bit closer to the teams at the top now, but there's more to come.
"Now we need to get as good a run of wins going as we can."
United had lost captain Asa Hall and centre-forward Aaron Jarvis to injuries sustained against Chippenham, but Jarvis (dead leg) at least is hopeful of returning for next Saturday's trip to Slough Town.
