Their removal is expected to improve traffic flow ahead of the busy Christmas period.
Janna Sanders from Tavistock BID shared the update on social media on Thursday.
“National Grid tell me that the traffic lights on Plymouth Road will be gone by 8am tomorrow (Friday 12th),” she said.
She added that the news is positive for local shops in the run-up to Christmas.
“Let’s all celebrate by coming into town and supporting local.”
Residents tuning in to BBC Radio Devon on Friday morning may also hear an update, with Sanders saying there will be more information at 7:10am.
National Grid has not yet released further details about the works or whether any more traffic management will be needed later in the winter.
The removal of the lights is expected to ease congestion for drivers entering Tavistock from the Plymouth direction and improve access to nearby businesses.
