Babbacombe Downs was transformed into a bustling festival of fun and furry friends last Sunday (August 11) for Rotary's ever-popular Babbacombe Fayre.
Starting at 10am and running throughout the day, the event featured over 80 local stalls featuring unique traders, cherished charities, mouth-watering food and coffee stalls, and timeless favourites like tombolas, hooplas, the hilarious human fruit machine, books, crafts and toys.
Entertainment was provided by lively performances from the Babbacombe Ukulele Strummers, talented young stars from the Razzamatazz Stage School, invigorating Tai Chi, and energetic Zumba sessions for everyone to join. The entertainment was also expertly compèred by Torbay Hospital Radio and the show saw special visits from Torquay's famous therapy pony, Patrick and some delightful alpacas.
There was also the all-important dog show, in aid of Animals in Distress, which saw a parade of Torbay’s finest pooches throughout the afternoon.
Money from the event will support various Rotary charities, making it a day of fun and philanthropy.
A spokesperson for the event said: “It was an amazing day on the Downs - thank you to everyone who supported this community event including stall holders, helpers, entertainers and all our hard-working team.
“A huge thank you to our sponsors Cary Arms and to compères Torbay Hospital Radio. Thanks to judge Karen from Torquay Dog Training, dog show sponsors Pads and Paws and our amazing helpers from Animals in Distress - Torbay & Westcountry.”
