Two frontline Ukrainian soldiers have recorded a video expressing their gratitude to the people of Torbay for supporting a convoy of vital medical and humanitarian supplies.
The aid, coordinated by Brixham Future CIC, included 10 First Aid Responder Kit Bags, antibiotics, painkillers, over 100 mobility items including wheelchairs, and two ambulances, all delivered by a team of 5 ex-servicemen and 3 other local Brixham men.
The convoy left Brixham on 6 November 2025, travelling over 1,000 miles across France, Belgium, Germany, and Poland before reaching Ukraine.

The supplies have now reached frontline medics and hospitals across the country. The kit bags are already in use at a medical training facility near Kiev, while ambulances and medical equipment were delivered to Sumy and Sloviansk, helping save lives and support the most vulnerable during the harsh Ukrainian winter.
The convoy was made possible thanks to the amazing generosity of the Brixham and Torbay community, who raised over £40,000 in just four months through donations, volunteering, and fundraising efforts.
A spokesperson for Brixham Future CIC said: “All the above could not have been achieved without the hard work and generosity of all the Brixham Voluntary groups, clubs, churches, and numerous individuals who contributed time, money and vital supplies to the convoy.
"We are glad that our local volunteers are returning safely to Brixham and their loved ones, after such a dangerous journey- they are true local heroes and should be recognised as such.
"There was no shortage of local people willing to help."
The video shows Ukrainian soldiers personally thanking everyone who contributed, highlighting the real impact of local support in the midst of the ongoing conflict.
