Elton tribute
Packed programme of events for Brixham Theatre
Brixham Theatre has been buzzing this summer due to a packed programme of super shows, ranging from tribute bands, plays and National Theatre Live screenings, as well as our regular cinema evening.
This season has seen tributes from returning favourites like Abba and Fleetwood Mac, as well as first time visits from groups like Madness and Status Quo. Particularly well received by visitors was the summer special family ticket, especially for the Coldplay tribute who supplied the audience with xylobands to really light up their show!
The late summer/early autumn programme continued, as Brixham welcomed ‘Take That’ to the theatre which was performed by four boys who have all appeared in London’s West End, as well as other Take That tribute bands all over Europe. Exceptional vocals, energetic routines, tight harmonies and a wealth of experience..
Brixham Theatre is also welcoming Sir Elton John to the stage in October! Simon Dory will bring an electrifying experience as ‘Sir Elton’ to the audience who will be enthralled by his closeness to the real man himself! Simon has played across the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury festival. The 'Step into Elton' show is on Friday October 6.
The Theatre are very pleased to be offer screenings from The National Theatre, but the next production comes from the Royal Opera House and will be a showing of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, a contemporary ballet where the female corps-de-ballet is replaced by a male ensemble. The Independent describes it as ‘spellbinding’ and the Telegraph ‘as bold and beautiful as ever’. It takes place on Friday September 22 and Saturday September 23.
The Theatre is run solely by an enthusiastic group of volunteers who will be very pleased to welcome visitors to their heritage theatre and ensure you have a wonderful time!
