Torquay Bowling Club forging a new future and new approach to the sport

Torquay Lawn Bowling Club has welcomed the Eastern Eye Indian Restaurant as an official club premier sponsor.

Eastern Eye is a long established and much-loved business based in Newton Abbot, and their support will help the continue encourages people of all ages to try a new sport or return to a competitive sport with a great community spirit.

Julie Bailey from Torquay Bowling Club said: “We are a growing and ambitious club with a history dating back to 1889, however over the past year we’ve been working hard to challenge outdated perceptions of bowls and to build a more connected, community focused club.

“This approach has helped us welcome new and younger members, strengthen our volunteer base, and attract several new sponsors who share our vision for a modern, inclusive club.”

Torquay Bowling Club is hosting an open day in early spring at their site on Belgrave Road, so come on down on May 10 to experience this fantastic sport.
