Stoke Gabriel and Bovey Tracey took their place in the limelight on a weekend that saw a raft of postponements in semi-pro football.

Welcoming a tough opponent in the form of Ilfracombe Town, Stoke edged to an entertaining 3-2 victory with goals from Jonah Shaw, Ben Aldous and Elliot Osman. The result lifted Stoke above Ilfracombe to third in the table on goal difference.

However, there is a yawning gap to the top two in this division, Bovey and Bridport. Bottom club Axminster Town were shown no mercy on Dartmoor, as they were trounced 8-1 by a ruthless Bovey Tracey display.

Stuart Bowker and Ollie Aplin both notched hat-tricks for the Moorlanders, with further goals from Josh Webber and Owen Stockton, while Bridport were made to work very hard before securing a 3-2 triumph at Okehampton Argyle.

Newton Abbot Spurs missed out on a place in the quarter finals of the Walter C Parson Cup after a 2-1 defeat at home to St Day. The visitors edged in front before Toby Pullman found an equaliser, but the Cornishmen won it with a penalty to leave Spurs ruing missed chances.
