The Pearson Cup
Torbay Amateur Athletics Club had three teams representing the club at Erme Valley relays last weekend and the junior Mixed team battled fierce competition to win first place in the mixed team competition and 10th place overall.
The Erme Valley Relays are an annual running event organized by Erme Valley Harriers, held at the Rugby Club in Ivybridge, featuring a four-person relay race over a 2.5-mile rural route.
The event starts and finishes at the Rugby Club, with the route taking runners through the lanes surrounding the town.
A total of 80 teams took part.

Seventeen junior athletes made their way to Dartmouth for the annual Pearson Cup. This event takes place between four local clubs.
Some juniors lined up for their first ever competition. A great day was had by all with some awesome medal positions across the age groups and events. Torbay juniors finished 3rd.
Torbay AAC juniors have also had a busy few weeks on the track, road and the fells. Marlow Kirby and Charlie Moore represented Devon in the UK junior fell running championships at Clough Pike near Lancaster and finished a very impressive 16th and 28th to help Devon to 7th team. This event included the best juniors from across the UK.
On the same day, Annalise Little ran for Devon schools at the SW schools championship and clocked another PB in the 1500m to finish 4:54, an excellent 4th place with another year to go in this age group.
Isaac Hammond had an excellent run in the BMC time trial to improve his 1500m time by two seconds to finish in 4:46.
Five Torbay juniors raced the Exe 5k with superb performances, despite the heat. Theo Glew 11th place overall in 16:17, Leon Snell 3rd U15 boy in 17:48, 1st U15 girl in Ella Richards 18:50, 1st U13 girl in Annalise Little 19.0 7, Luke Richards 5th U17 boy in 22:24.
Nick Robinson and Anthony Raine were representing the senior club in the run Exe 5k 4th Series last Tuesday. Nick ran an impressive 20.47 and Anthony finished in a time of 21.49.
