Paul Holmes Puzzle Sale
Raising money for Rowcroft in memory of Paul Holmes
The legacy of former Torquay United favourite Paul Holmes lives on, and it will continue to help raise money for Torquay’s Rowcroft Hospice with a new venture later this month.
Right-back Holmes, who made 269 appearances for the Gulls in a 575-game career that also took him to Doncaster Rovers, Birmingham City, Everton and West Bromwich Albion, died at the age of 56 last May.
His widow Kate, who works for the Coop Funeral Service, is still supporting Rowcroft, and she is organising a two-day ‘Big Puzzle Sale’ at their Torquay Funeral Home, Barton Road, on Friday- Saturday, February 21-22 (10am-4pm).
“More than 200 puzzles, for adults and children, have already been dropped off at our funeral homes in Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, Buckfastleigh, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Exeter,” she said.
“We’re still collecting puzzles, and we’ll carry on right up to the day of the sale.
“All puzzles will be priced to sell, although most will just ask for a donation to Rowcroft.”
Cash will be preferred, but a card machine may also be available.
