Torbay athletes performing in the Welsh National Champs

Three Torbay Athletic Club athletes travelled to Cardiff to compete in the Welsh Athletics National senior indoor championships. James Larkin 400m heat 3rd 53.60 sec Personal Best, semi 2nd 55.44 sec, 200m heat 3rd 23.89 sec PB, and Estelle Roots 200m heat 2nd 26.56 sec

Keeley Little, only 16, was good enough to compete against senior level competition. In the 60m, she lacked her usual bounce, heat 2nd 7.82 sec, semi 6th 7.91 sec, failing to make the final.

The following day in the 200m, Keeley was back in superb form, winning her heat in 25.47 sec, semi 2nd in a new Personal Best time 25.18 sec, qualifying for the final where she recorded 25.20 sec to finish 3rd in the Welsh senior champs.

Keeley’s best time of 25.18 sec currently ranks her 2nd in the England U17 rankings. With the England National U17 indoor champs in Sheffield next month, Keeley will resume winter training in preparation.
