Winning runs continue for local sides in Western League
Buckland Athletic and Brixham AFC are the form teams in the Western League after both continued their winning streaks in differing circumstances on the weekend.
The Bucks were given a scare after falling behind early at bottom club Welton Rovers. Ryan bush eventually levelled matters early in the second period and the Bucks laid siege on the home goal.
The crucial second finally arrived ten minutes from time, Reece Shanley steering a fine finish into the bottom corner. Bush then added gloss to the score with two further goals to complete his hat-trick.
The Bucks are up to fifth and Brixham eighth, with just one league defeat, after an entertaining 3-2 win over Portishead Town at Wall Park.
Aaron Wellington opened the scoring, Portishead replied before half-time, Charlie Johansen made it 2-1, Portishead replied again, but man of the match Wellington grabbed a deserved late winner for the Fishermen.
