Paignton bowlers bring down the summer curtain

Now the outdoor bowling season has finished, players from across the region take to the indoor venues and to celebrate the end of the summer season, Paignton were represented in The Mid Devon Bowling League finals.

The A team were successful in the MDL Cup, overcoming Brixham St Mary’s in the final, and a men’s triple team came second to Brixham (Furzeham). Both these matched were played over two dates starting on September 7 but had to be abandoned because of the weather and completed a fortnight later.

Teams were Paignton A – Patrick Bradford; Bob Bushell; Malcolm Chapman and Mike Stephen v Brixham St Mary’s - Gary Burge; Jim Heard; Julian Bird and Tug Wilson.

Triples teams - Paignton - Rob Gardiner; Craig Hodge and Chris Ball v Brixham – Jo Cussen; Dave Farley and Dave Moseby.
