Hard-earned victory for Gulls in FA Youth Cup

Two well-taken goals by striker Toby Hard earned Torquay United a 2-0 win over Saltash United in the FA Youth Cup First Qualifying Round at Buckland Athletic FC.

In a fast-flowing and entertaining tie, the Gulls avenged a 5-1 pre-season friendly defeat by Saltash.

The visitors had their chances, but Hard's two excellent finishes, early in each half, deservedly took Kevin Wills side through.

Moving down the Plainmoor age groups, an opportunity has arisen for a new coach to join the TUFC youth set-up.

The successful candidate will lead and coach our Under-7s age group competing in the Devon Junior & Minor League and will need to be capable of working collaboratively with all relevant parties in order to build and maintain effective relationships, with excellent communication skills therefore a must.

Previous experience of coaching young players at a professional club is essential, with the role also requiring applicants to possess a Level 1 coaching qualification (with a preference of working towards UEFA ‘B’ level).
