Mussa and Wonnacott sign for the Gulls
Torquay United have added two more players ahead of their showpiece friendly with Plymouth Argyle at Plainmoor on Saturday.
Midfielder Omar Mussa has moved to the Gulls from Dagenham & Redbridge and goalkeeper Matt Wonnacott has returned to Plainmoor after two years with Wigan Athletic.
Mussa, 23, is a Burundi international and one of the leading midfield players in the non-league after impressive stints with Dover, Weymouth and Dagenham.
He started his career with Mechelen in Belgium before switching to Walsall in 2019. Mussa then signed for Dover and Weymouth but it was with Dagenham that he became established as a top National League performer.
Wonnacott was a star of the United youth team under the guidance of Chris Todd, helping the young Gulls to the treble in 2021/22.
His impressive development prompted a move to Wigan, where he progressed to earning a pro contract and spent time on loan with Northwich. Wonnacott returns to Plainmoor to complete a goalkeeping unit alongside James Hamon.
