Find out more about the DSA in Torquay
Over the weekend of June 21 & 22, the Torbay Disabled Sailing Association are holding another ‘Meet the DSA’ event next to the Torquay Town Dock Marina gate (outside the Harvester restaurant).
The message from DSA is that they offer "safe and affordable sailing for the disabled". The public are invited to come and meet with the DSA and to have a look around the boats. This latest event follows on from a similar session a couple of years ago, which proved to be very popular.
One of the DSA lady skippers is also planning to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats in July to raise money towards a new boat that will replace the older yacht (Free Spirit).
The Disabled Sailing Association is a Torquay-based sailing charity, run for the disabled, by the disabled.
Their aim is, wherever possible, to give everybody, no matter what their disability, the opportunity to enjoy the experience of seagoing sailing in a safe and pleasurable environment, and to encourage them to be involved in an activity from which many believe they are excluded.
