Torbay Athletics Club results at Devon schools champs

The juniors from Torbay Athletics Club took the County by storm with some fantastic performances in the Devon schools track and field championships at the Exeter arena on June 8. 

Several achieved county standard performances, which will put them in a strong position for selection to represent Devon schools next week in the South-West schools championships, before the final team of 40 is selected for the trip to Birmingham for the All England schools champs next month.

Top performer was Keeley Little, who completed the double in winning both the under 17s 100m title in 12.42 sec and 300m title in dominant fashion. Her 300m time of 39.39 sec set a new championship best performance, which had stood for 28 years, Keeley will be looking to target the 300m at the Nationals.

Frankie Skelly achieved three County standard performances in the under 15s 100m 4th 13.16 sec, 200m 27.12 sec, and 2nd in the long jump with a new personal best leap of 4.83m.

In the under 13 girls, Annalise Little showed her versatility by winning the 200m in a swift 28.97 sec after placing 2nd in the 800m in 2:32.87.

There were other County title wins for Ella Richards in the under 15s 1500m in 5:00.33, while Jazmine Hart was the only winner in the field events, winning the under 20s triple jump with a best of 9.69m plus a 2nd in long jump with 4.65m.

Other creditable performances from Freya Steward under 13s 100m 7th 15.33 sec, Leon Snell under 15s 1500m 8th 4:46.01 PB, Theo Glew under 17s 3000m 4th 9:35.39, James Larkin under 19s 200m 2nd 23.37 sec PB, Zara Joseph under 17s javelin 5th 24.41m.
