SDAC runners at the Ottery 10k
SDAC battle through searing heat in East Devon
South Devon AC’s runners turned out to be hot stuff at the blistering Ottery 10k, the latest round in the club’s year-long Grand prix race series.
In sweltering conditions over an undulating course, club chairman Colin Peters was the first SDAC runner home, finishing 39th out of 247 finishers in 45m 09s. Close behind him was Dani Waters, who was 43rd overall in 45m 25s. She was second in her age category, and just one place and six seconds behind former Great Britain international track star Jo Pavey.
Shaun Kirk was 59th in 47m 03s, followed by Antony Waters (96th in 50m 44s); James Nash (109th in 52m 26s); Neil Jordain (176th in 58m 46s); George Holman (200th in 1h 02m 25s); Mark Holman (204th in 1h 03m 21s) and Roger Webb (232nd in 1h 08m 23s).
The club was also represented at the Ivybridge 10k, where Kate Foley was 247th out of 487 finishers in 55m 20s.
