Torquay Academy U18s win the Devon Schools Cup
Torquay Academy have won the Devon U18 Schools Cup after a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Colyton Grammar.
On a breezy day, TA surged into a 2-0 lead with Charlie Pope finishing off a delightful team move and then a deflected strike from Sam Hext. Colyton, however, fought back to score twice in the final eight minutes and take the game into extra time.
Both teams had chances to win the cup before the dreaded penalties but it all came down to the spot-kick lottery, and TA held their nerve to lift the trophy in a superb end to the football season.
