Headline sponsors planning for a day to remember on the Seafront

The headline sponsor of the Torbay Half Marathon and 10k, Ocean Healthcare, are planning to involve their staff and carer network from across the region to take part, volunteer, or cheer on participants.

The mass participation runs, which, after a two-year hiatus, return to the English Riviera on Sunday, September 29.

Paul Insley, Managing Director of the Paignton based company, explained: “As previous headline sponsors, we are delighted to be able to put our name once again to this special event in the Torbay calendar, and our aim is to welcome our fantastic team, members and carers to be part of the day.

“Our company philosophy is “Live Happy, Care Well”, which basically means we take happiness seriously, as we believe we provide better care when we do. We believe in it so much that we actually employ a Happiness Manager and so we’ll be doing everything we can to ensure that it’s an occasion full of happiness and positivity.”

Both the half marathon and 10k will feature runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities. In previous years participants have been supported by thousands of spectators lining the route and there has been a party like atmosphere at Paignton Green, the location for the start and finish areas.

Suzi Cumberland, Managing Director of the organisers Taurus Events, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Ocean Healthcare on board, and their staff initiative should be a great addition to the day. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the news that the Torbay Half Marathon and 10k is returning, and we know it’s going to be a day to remember.”

Entries for both the half marathon and 10k are open at www.torbayhalfmarathon.co.uk with a special early bird price in place until May 31.
