Double delight for the Darts

Dartmouth rugby are champions and Dartmouth FC win their first game

Saturday was a special day in the world of Dartmouth sport, as the rugby and football teams both achieved incredible milestones.

Dartmouth RFC are champions of the Counties 3 Tribute Devon South & West after a dominant 80-5 victory at Kingsbridge 2nds extended their wonderful unbeaten run to 20 matches this season.

The Darts have been imperious all year, scoring an incredible 855 points from their 20 league outings and conceding just 145. Congratulations to everyone at Dartmouth RFC.

The football achievement was at the other end of the scale, and with plenty of Torbay involvement.

Dartmouth have toiled all season in the South-West Peninsula League and entered the weekend visit from Bishops Lydeard still seeking their first win of the campaign.

Torbay duo Robbie Bowker and Dan Cartwright have breathed new life into the club since taking over management duties at the start of the year and, following an impressive 1-1 draw with Elburton Villa in midweek, Saturday brought a superb 4-1 victory.

The Darts comprised four Torquay Academy students in their line-up and the third goal, an absolute screamer from 25 yards, was scored by the Bay’s Frazer Clark. Well done to everyone involved at Dartmouth FC.
