Success on the roads for triathletes

Doubling up as the British Standard Distance Duathlon Championships, Julian Smith and Ben Flower from Torbay Triathlon Club competed against the country's best age groupers at the Ashbridge Duathlon and came away with notable performances.

Racing over a 10k run, 39k bike and 5k run format, Julian blasted his way to fourth in his age group in a time of 2.14.33, while Ben stepped on to the podium with third place in his respective age group in a time of 2.37.52

A trio of Tri Club runners battled their way through mud, streams and lots of energy sapping hills at the Dalwood 3 Hills multi-terrain run. Located between Axminster and Honiton, the race attracts a strong field of runners as ideal preparation for the infamous Grizzly race next month.

Jerry Hocking was first home for the club in 1.33.41 and was closely followed by Simon Johnson in 1.36.13 and Cassandra Harrison completed the team in 2.20.53

Ian Tyson took to the streets of London at the Hampton Court Half Marathon. The scenic and flat course showcased the beautiful riverside grounds of the historic Hampton Court Palace, with Ian racing his way around in a speedy time of 1.16.22.
