Ronny Nelson playing for Leicester U21s
Ronny Nelson signs at Plainmoor
Torquay United have dipped back into the loan market for more defensive reinforcements ahead of the weekend visit from Slough Town in the National League South.
Left-footed centre-back Ronny Nelson has moved to Plainmoor from League Two Colchester United and will go straight into the squad for the crucial meeting with Slough at Plainmoor.
Nelson is a graduate of the Leicester City Academy and the 20 year-old has been a regular feature for the Colchester U21 side.
United manager Gary Johnson told the club website: “What we can’t afford now is any niggly injuries, without having the numbers. We’ve known of him, and we’ve been interested in him before. He’s 6’4” and at this moment, you’ve got to have a squad, and you need that squad competing.
“We’ve got to have a look at our luck over the season with injuries, things that have happened at the wrong times leaving us a bit short, and we’re determined for that not to happen.”
