Changing times for the Gulls
A new era awaits Torquay United Women, with Steve Elswood stepping back from his role as manager to focus on his duties at the team’s chairman.
Elswood can rightly reflect on a tremendous spell in charge of the team, leading the Gulls to victory in the Devon premier Cup and promotion to National League level for the first time in the history of Torquay United Women.
Elswood told the club website: “I’d like to thank the Torquay fans for their support over last two years.
“We’ve achieved a lot – two trophies in two seasons. I now feel it’s time for a new voice to come in to drive forward and achieve the safety we’re looking for.
“I will still be very close to the Club in my new role as Chairman and will make sure TUWFC continue to progress its relationship with TUAFC in the future to achieve more success. For now, though, I’m handing over the reins for a new beginning from the touchline.”
