Torbay Tri Club
It was a case of all routes head upwards as runners from Torbay Tri Club braved cold conditions at the multi-terrain Oh My Obelisk! race, writes Jon Pressling.
Starting out from Dawlish Leisure Centre, runners faced an uphill battle over a choice of nine and 13 mile routes. Jerry Hocking and Simon Johnson claimed top ten finishes in 1.14.09 and 1.14.46 respectively over the shorter course and were joined by Sarah Luxton 1.38.12 and Alix Reynolds 1.46.53 Going longer was Steve Waters and Michael Cash who crossed the finish line together in 2.28.46
Putting her nocturnal navigation skills to the test, Katie Giles headed to Cornwall for the Copper Trail Noir - a 11.5 mile self-navigation trail run. Katie successfully completed the course in a great time of 2.29.26 which included a 15 minute detour in the rather eerie dark.
